After the drawing workshop, we are given the design workshop. I am very excited about it because it is the first time I learn how to use Adobe Illustrator to design the things. Everything is new for me. Actually, all we have done is for the preparation of hand making the zine. The purpose of making the zine is to record the moments that we spend in Petaling Street. Therefore the zine will include the contents of interviewing various places like Kampung Banda Dalam, the stationery shop, Venus Art, Bunn Choon Egg Tart and a food stall. All the preparation of zine we will involve so we are divided into 3 teams such as editor, designer and illustrator. I am one of the editor. Five days of social engagement cannot complete a zine So We will continue the completion work after this social engagement. For hand making the zine, we will use A4 paper and separate it into 2 becoming A5 size. In addition, the zine will also separate into 2 parts – Petaling Street and Kampung Banda Dalam and then include the mapping that we done, articles about introduce the old shops and then introduce the relationship between Petaling Street and Kampung Banda Dalam into the zine. After the design workshop, we are given practicum that how to design an article by AI. We are also given homework, that is to design a postcard for thankful the shops that kindly let us interview them and experience their daily life.
